Week summary

A lil' summary of what's going on:

Half as a joke, half serious, Max says to Enric that 'he can't wait until they start to live together'. Enric doesn't seem too happy about it, and later he comments to Mercè that he was glad that Max returned to Barcelona earlier because he was getting a little tired. He remarks that it isn't that he doesn't love max, but that after being with him 24 hours a day during 15 days, he wanted to see his friends and do some other things. Later on we discover that Max was also a little bit tired of being in a town where there's really nothing to do, and says to Edu that since he proposed to Enric to live together, he's been acting a little weird. Edu answers that the worst thing that can happen to the sexual life of a couple is to live together (XD). A couple of days later Max confesses to Enric that he really doesn't want/need to move together so early and that he's sorry if Enric was acting distant because of that. Enric laughs, saying that he didn't even remember and there's a make-up kiss.
A few days later, Enric meets with his parents. They are in good terms until his father remarks that 'he hopes he'll find a girlfriend soon'. Enric replies angrily, saying that being gay isn't something that comes and goes; his father replicates saying that it is only a teenager phase and that Max is only a game. Enric snaps and shouts at his parents, then leaves. He goes to Max's house and explains him what happened, then, out of the blue, he asks him to live togheter. Max accepts.

OMG Update!

I know I've been dead the whole summer, and I won't lie, I will be offline for quite a bit (this is what waking up at 6'30 and arriving at home at 22'10 does), but at least I'll try to keep you updated about what's going on with the series =) Because yeah, yesterday el cor de la ciutat started airing again. It also makes me giggle to see in the 'most watched' section the kiss of Max and Enric. Yes, I'm simple like that.

In today's episode, Max apered for a little bit. He is supposed to have spent part of the summer with Enric in Puigcerdà (north of Catalonia)

And onto some other news... as you can see the homepage of the series is brand new, and there are some juicy new things... For example, there will be a chat with actors of the series! I really look forward to that =)

And regarding Jordi's sexuality... I don't know what to think anymore. You see photos like this (http://www1.fotolog.com/cerca_de_shibuya/27542031), that say "Because you and me have been together (the verb doesn't exactly imply a romantic relationship, but it's usually used this way) for a year also! And I also love you madly".
But then, you go to earlier entries and you find some like this (http://www.fotolog.com/cerca_de_shibuya/22296763) that say "God, how scary! I have just seen the Ring2 with Marc... a very romantic night! Goooooood :S Well... tomorrow I'm returning home". And in the comments: "but hadn't you broke up?""Noooooooo!"

Now, as smoothie pointed out, I think it's better if we calm down a bit. Jordi is a normal person, and I'm starting to get the feeling that we are going too far. He should have his privacy, too.

Episode 1420: 11/07/2007

The episode starts with Enric, Felip and Trini eating breakfast together. Trini is leaving because she is getting married, and Felip comments that from now on, there will only be the two of them. But then, out of the blue, Enric says that he is going to study Medicine in Madrid. Because of this, Felip realizes that he doesn't want Enric to end up like himself and his son, so he phones Enric's parents. They meet, and Felip explains the situation. He also explains what happened to a friend of his, who was homosexual and had to go to Valencia because their neighbours looked bad at him; there, he hid his sexuality and was unhappy. He adds that maybe that was 30 years ago, and that fortunately people are more free today, but that Enric still feels that what he is must be hidden. Felip says that maybe all this is his fault, because he wasn't able to educate Enric's father properly, but that if they don't do something now, they'll loose Enric forever.

Enrics parents decide to go see him and say that they want him to stay with them. They apologize for not being able to understand him, and they promise not to argue about that anymore, because they love him for who he is.

After the talk with his parents, he suddently stands up and says he has to go somewhere.
The scene changes, and we see Max being picked on by Pep again. Max stands up against him and then Enric appears, Pep starts rambling as the stupid bastard he is again. Max is prepared to punch him, but Enric stops him and kisses him. Mercè and Maica, who are also there, giggle. Pep and his brother get out of the pizza shop, annoyed.

And then Max says the cutest thing ever: "Why did you take so long?"


Soooooo, Max was still waiting for him. He was too proud to say anything, because even though he wanted to continue the relationship, it was now Enric's turn to apologise and do something. So, I think there are high chances that we may see them again next season. As a couple, that is ;)

Interview to Bernat Quintana

He was born in Sabadell, and from six to twelve years, he attended to theater classes at school, age from which he started working professionally. First in the series Laura and then in El Cor de la Ciutat, in which he plays as Max. He has done a couple of TV-movie: Valeria and Jo, el desconegut (Me, the stranger/unknown), this year 2007. He has also appeared briefly in the cinema and has done two theater plays in TNC (TNC stands for Teatre Nacional de Catalunya or National Theater from Catalonia): El criptograma (The Cryptogram) and Bernadeta xoc (The crash from Bernadeta); and two other plays in the Romea theater: J.R.S, de dotze anys (for twelve years) and Lliure, Davant de l'home (Free, in front of the man). All this job has been done without a manager, and he isn’t thinking of acting in the rest of the country at the moment.

When you were twelve, did you know how to get moved, cry or laugh when the script required it?

I took it very seriously, but I didn’t quite rationalize the process of the character’s creation. I answered the director’s indications very intuitively and I took it as a game.

You have touched very compromising topics since you where very little, such as pederasty, alzheimer and homosexuality.

They are proposals that I have been given, I like to do compromising parts. I haven’t received any trivial offer, but when it happens, I’ll tell you if I’m accepting it or not.


What studies have you made in your formation?

I have studied with Boris Rotenstein, in the Theather’s College. Then I left “El Cor” to study Philosophy during two years, studies than I now have on hiatus to be able to work.


What difficulty mark would you give to your profession?

It depends on the moment that I’m on; now nearly a 10, I have enough jobs and I like the roles that I’m doing. But maybe you’ll find me a year from now and I’ll tell you a zero. You go trough a lot of ups and downs as an actor.


When will you stop being a teenager in acting?

When have beard [laughts]. All the actors are conditionated by our phisical appearance, the body is our working tool. I won’t be able to play the roles I’m doing at the moment in a few years time.

What it’s like kissing actors and/or actresses that you don’t like?

As actors, we have to impose feelings and likings. Even if you don’t like that person, you have to kiss him/her, it is my job. A kiss is relatively easy to do.

For which role would you give all the gold in the world for?

I have read Txejov, Shakespeare, Thomas Bernhard. Their works are vey interesting and I would like to play the ones that I have seen. I like to buy books, reading makes me feel good.

Why is Max one of the characters most loved by the audience?

I imagine it’s because he is neither a good or a bad person, and that is very important. He is a young main character, and a lot of people identify with him.

And with the homosexuality, have you noticed changes (in the society)?

Of course, it’s a little sensitive topic. People feel uneasy, they don’t carry it/sort it out good or with naturality . They come and say it to you “What sort of things do they make you do with your character, huh?


The graciencs (People from Gracia, a neighbourhood from Barcelona – because the interview is for a newspaper from there) would like to know if you are as shy as you seem.

I am a little reserved. I was twelve years old and I didn’t want to appear on TV, because I did not know how that would affect me/ what an impact would it have for me. I didn’t want it to affect my daily life or feel observed/watched. I wanted to protect myself and not end up hurt. The director from the series and my parents talked to me and convinced me.

You have touched happiness when....

I have been doing what I wanted.

Episode 1411: 28/06/2007

Short but sweeeeeeet =3

Felip (Enric's grandfather) goes to the pizzeria where Max works because he has ordered a pizza. While he is waiting, he asks Max how his father is and if Enric went to talk to him. Max says that yes, but that they didn't sort things out. Then Felip comments that Enric was also beaten up like Edu by Pep and that he thinks that Enric should tell the police about it, but that the doesn't listen to him. When Felip is gone, Edu says to Max that he didn't tell him that Enric had come to see him, and Max says that it was only to look good. Edu answers back, saying that Enric still loves him, to which Max says that he doesn't need him. Edu then says that he is acting too tough, and that at least Enric didn't come back crying because he had been beaten up. Max angrily answers back, saying that he deserved it for being friends with people like that.

Afterwards, Edu goes to talk to Enric (Look at the PINK shirt!) and says that he is sorry about what happened, but that now he knows what it is like. Enric acts like the fact that he was beaten up didn't matter and Edu tells to him that he should stop doing stupid things and that it is hard for everyone in the beginning. Edu also adds that Max doesn't know that he has come, and that ever though acts cold, he is also worried about him. Then, after saying that he shouldn't let Max go, he flees. Then Enric, after Mercè asking what was going on, tells the girls that he was beaten up.

Episode 1409: 26/06/2007

Short summary of yesterday's episode:

Script writer 1 (girl): Fanservice?
Script writer 2 (girl): *nods* Fanservice!

In it, Enric basically hides the beating from everyone because he doesn't want anyone to worry about him, he feels that he deserves the beating for what he did to Edu and Max. His grandfather finds out anyway when he doesn't want to take out a t-shirt, and wants him to denunciate it to the police, but at the end he agrees to remain silent. Enric decides to go the the pizza restaurant where Max works, but he doesn't tell Max about the beating because he doesn't want Max to pity him, or think that he has only went to see Max to make him feel responsible of the beating. He asks Max about his father, but Max reprehends him because he has just asked when they were alone and very late.

This night I'll upload the real summary. Sorry I didn't do it yesterday, but I was really tired and today I have overslept :P

Episode 1408: 25/06/2007

Ohshitfuckfuck.

Now, onto the summary. Mercè manages to convince his father so he lends her the bar to organize a dinner with her class to celebrate the end of the school. Mercè, Maica and Enric go to Remei's shop to buy some things for the dinner (glasses, dishes...) and they find Max there, but Enric is unable to say anything to him and after paying, leaves the shop. At Enric's house, Mercè and Maica reprehend Enric for not even say hello to Max when he's having a hard time, but the conversation stops when his grandfather appears.

At the dinner, Enric acts a little strange, but is quickly cheered up by Maica, who imitates her English teacher. Then, Pep, his brother and a friend of his appear, making fun of the fact that they don't have any alcohol drinks, so they go and get some beers. Mercè and Enric try to stop them, while Maica goes to the Chápuli, where Fidel (Mercè's father) is. She brings him to the bar and Fidel makes the boys get out of there. After the dinner, Mercè and some other classmates decide to go out and drink something, and they manage to convince Enric to go too. Because they all won't fit into a taxi, Enric decides to go there walking and when he is alone, Pep and his friends appear and beat him up (tough you can't see it, it's obvious).

Sorry it's taking so long to update, but summer job + going out + end of school dinner with the class + checking all the comms, blogs and stuff + sleeping 10 hours in a row doesn't give me as much free time as I would like. And it upsets me because I said I would update earlier, and I'm not keeping my promise... Well, stop the rambling and onto the news.

Alejandro (who is the boy that provides that super high quality videos to arkarchangelfr) send me the link to the newest video (yes, the one I was supposed to upload five days ago) because arkarchangelfr is missing. Unfortunately, megaupload says that I've been downloading too much lately, so I won't be able to post it to youtube until tomorrow morning. Andddddddd, you should know that this season of "El cor de la ciutat" finishes the 15 of July. There are rumours that the next season will be filmed in another neighbourhood, so some of the characters may not appear anymore. I'm nearly 100% sure Max will stay, but I can't be so sure about Enric. He is a new character, doesn't have a lot of background and he's replaceable. Let's cross fingers anyway >__<
For the latest episode, there is a little show in the national theatre in which, apart from the episode being aired, information about the next season will be given and some of the actors will attend (and you're able to talk to them and take photos!). Getting a ticket to go there is very difficult, so I'm not getting my hopes high about it, but even if I'm not one of the fortunate ones, I'll go and take a look around because it takes place near where I live, at ten minutes walking approximately.

Also, I'll try to answer to the comments as soon as I can. Next, I'll do the translations and after that, their background together, so I'm afraid all of you who have been asking me how they meet will have to wait.
